Caution

By Tyler Cedric Golden •
All it said was caution; it didn’t say no passing through……
So we did what are liberty allows, and walked right through,
But we should’ve paid more attention, to what was warned,
Because now every morning and night I mourn,
Missing you each and every day,
I thought we would make it, all of the way,
But now you are gone, for we didn’t pay attention to the sign,
Now I hold your heart within mine,
For all time,
Even though so painful it feels,
And appears unreal,
I know, killing myself isn’t an option,
But next time I pass through, I will listen to that one deadening word: Caution.
